I personally feel that it is less about colour and more about style. To achieve the Barbie look I would recommend getting it cut in to a style that has plenty of layers that cascade around your shoulders. Barbie has long hair, so avoid getting hair cut short, it can take several years to grow your hair out to the preferred length so do what I do and fake it. I have tape hair extensions professionally added to me hair to achieve thickness and length. These are expensive believe me, but there is a more cost effective alternative. Clip-in hair extensions. These are great as you can change your hair style in the time it takes to go click-click and they last around four months when looked after. (I will do a separate blog on hair extensions.) The second thing that will help you recreate Barbie-like hair is Volume! This requires plenty of lift at the root and there are a couple of steps you can follow to achieve this.
1. Put a golf balls size of moose on damp hair- I recommend Kerastase Volumactive Amplified mousse
2. Finish blow-drying you hair upside down with a large bristle brush
3. Set the front sections of the hair in large Velcro rollers for 30min and lightly mist with hairspray
4. Remove the rollers and take small 3cm strands and gently tease using a backcombing brush or medium tooth comb, leaving some hair at the front to cover the teased area.
5. Rub in a little Batiste Dry shampoo to add thickness and hold the backcomb.

6. Loosely curl the ends of the rest of your hair and set with hair spray.
