Barbie is the ultimate style icon. She undoubtedly is one of the most sought after blonde's in the world, no matter where you originate from, Barbie is a name that you will have heard of. My look developed from that of the quintessential classic 90's barbie doll (given that I was born in 1987 and was given my first barbie a year later.) So let me explain some of the ways even the word "Barbie" creates simple rules to follow in which to Barbie-fy your appearance.
B is for Big. For Barbie everything is bigger for dramatic effect- IE. Hair, eyelashes, glossed lips, Heels, just to name a few.
A is for Accessorize. For Barbie nothing is plain or simple. Accessories can make or break an outfit, everything needs to match and over-the-top is the inspiration. I personally love to accessorize right sown to my nail polish and lipstick shade. I'll go on to cover some of my favorite jewellery and hair clips in a later blog.
R is for Rouge. Barbie always exerts a clear, radiant and healthy glow, so a vibrant pink blush is always a must. This is really easy to cheat, so I'll save that for another blog.
B is for Bright. When do you ever see Barbie in black? Hello! Never! The brighter the better that's my motto- think Rainbow. Pink being the Queen when it comes to colour.
I is for Immaculate. Barbie always looks great, even flight attendant Barbie comes off a long haul flight looking perfect, not a hair out of place. That is why whether going out for the night or just going to the shops we should always strive to look our best at all times. (except for going to sleep that is.)
E is for Eyes. Barbie always wears liquid eye liner to create elongated sexy pin-up eyes. Even the very first Barbie had big wide Bambi eyes surrounded by long glossy lashes. So eyes must be accentuated, the best thing for this, lots n lots of mascara and my ol' faithful- falsies. (I'll rate my favs later in another blog.)
